Reiki...
I currently practice two forms of Reiki. These are detailed below:
Usui Reiki
Every living thing has some form of energy. Reiki is a method of natural healing which channels that energy to activate the body’s own ability to heal itself, promoting good health and wellbeing.
It is a natural healing energy which works on a variety of levels, not just the physical. It helps to restore total harmony and balance in mind and body and can benefit everyone, from young babies to the elderly.
Reiki can be used for everything from simple relaxation and stress reduction to assisting the recovery process after illness or injury.
Reiki – pronounced ‘ray-key’ – was founded in Japan in the early part of the ninth century by Dr Mikao Usui. The name originates from the Japanese words ‘rei’ (universal) and ‘ki’ (energy).
Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. There is nothing you must believe in to use Reiki. It will work – whether you believe in it or not!
Kundalini Reiki
Kundalini Reiki was started by a Danish meditation master called Ole Gabrielsen.
It is possibly the simplest form of healing in that it uses the dormant energy that lies within everyone.
Kundalini is derived from the Sanskrit word kundala which literally means “coiled” and has links with the Hindu religion, where a mythological character is envisioned as a coiled serpent goddess.
In Kundalini Reiki, when the dormant energy is awakened, it moves in a serpent-like fashion as it rises from the bottom of the body up to the head, right where the crown chakra is.
As the energy moves upward, it releases all blockages and frees all other energies that are dormant in the body.
Kundalini energy is a powerful healing force and can release the body’s bonds with an illness both physically and mentally.
It can purify the body, drastically reduce stress and even help with addiction problems.
